A Estonia has today expelled from its territory a Russian citizen who had links with Moscow's secret services, has advanced the Baltic Homeland Security Service, the Kaitsepolitseiamet (KAPO).
The Estonian police accompanied Leonid Karabeskini to the border with Russia, according to a video published on social network X by KAPO.
In addition, Estonia has imposed a ban on entering the Schengen area.
“The aim of expulsion is to prevent and hinder activities that threaten the security of Estonia and, more broadly, Europe,” KAPO explained.
Estonia’s Foreign Minister, Margus Tsahkna, pointed out on the X that “those who have links with Russian intelligence services and hostile networks of influence have no room to take advantage of our openness”.
Estonia is a member of the Atlantic Alliance and the European Union and is an ally of Ukraine.
