A u.S. embassy in Moscow warned of a “believable threat of an event” with large numbers of victims today in a museum in the Russian capital, claiming to be coordinating a response with the Russian authorities.
“ The US Embassy in Moscow is aware of a credible threat to an event with mass casualties TODAY, October 31, at the Museum-Reserva in Moscow, at Dolskaya Ulitsa 1, Moscow, Russia 11569”, says the u.s. diplomatic representation, in a statement published on its official website.
The U.S. Government adds, “is coordinating a response with the competent Russian authorities”.
For its part, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) stated that it had received information from the United States on the preparation of an attack in Moscow and that “the necessary actions are underway”, according to Russian news agencies cited by France-Presse (AFP).
In the message, the embassy leaves advice to citizens, asking them to avoid the site of the museum in southern Moscow, and to stay alert and away from crowds.
Citizens should also review their personal security plans, keep their phones loaded and lead to their identification.
