“ O balance of the general government decreased by EUR 2,040.1 million, mainly due to the reduction in the balance of the central government (EUR 3,500,9 million; EUR 2,241,2 million, without the effect of SNS debt settlement payments)”, reads in the document released today by the budgetary entity (former DGO-Directorate-General of the Budget).
By July, the surplus of the State stood at EUR 282 million, below EUR 2,322 million reported in the same period.
The increase in social security balances (EUR 1,200,9 million), local government (EUR 198 million) and regional administration (EUR 62 million) also contributed to this development.
