Festival F returns to the historic centre of Faro in September 2027

The day after the closing of the 11th edition, the organization of the Festival F advanced with the dates of next year, ensuring that the goal is to keep “the commitment to Portuguese music and strengthen the bet on Portuguese.”.

Consisting of the Chamber of Faro, the municipal company Ambifaro and the Teatro Municipal de Faro – Teatro das Figuras, the organization highlighted, in a statement, that this year’s Festival transformed Vila Aenterro, the historic center of Faro, into the “epicenter of music and culture in Portugal”.

“ This edition once again reinforces what Festival F has been during 11 editions: a festival that makes Faro a reference for music in Portuguese and that offers all those who visit us a unique experience, differentiated by cultural offer and the fact that it happens in the noble zone of the city”, said the mayor of Faro, António Miguel Pina, quoted in the statement.

The mayor said that, in 2027, the organization will “consolidate the F in its dimension, maintaining the openness to innovation, both in cultural offer and in the type of experience” offered to the public.

The organization considered that the Festival F of 2026 “confidented what more than a decade of course had been building: a mature festival, with its own identity and a relationship of belonging to Faro, with the Algarve and with an audience that, year after year, comes back to close the summer”.

With the new edition officially scheduled for 02, 03 and 04 September 2027, the organization recalled that, over the last three days, the festival had 67 concerts, on eight stages installed on the streets, squares, wide and walls of the historic center of Faro, of “inconquerable names of Portuguese music”, but also of “emerging projects” and debuting artists at the festival.

“ Among the moments that marked this edition are the two meetings specially designed for Faro, with Ricardo Ribeiro accompanied by the Algarve Jazz Orchestra and Carminho in concert with the Algarve Orchestra, two programs that brought two of the biggest voices of fado closer to formations deeply linked to the region ", highlighted.

Names such as Slow J, Barbara Tinoco, Wet Bed Gang, The Gift, Moonspell, Papillon, HMB, D.A.M.A, Branko, Chico da Tina and Atoa also performed live at the Algarve festival, which this year could include in the poster the premieres of Mind da Gap, Maninho and Clan, highlighted the organization of the F.

“ The approximation to the Lusophone space was one of the marks of this 11th edition. The presence of Tz da Coronel e dos Pelados, which reinforced the historical link between Portugal and Brazil, and Nelson Freitas, one of the reference names of contemporary Cape Verdean music, had a very positive response from the public and opens the way to what will be one of the programming lines of the next edition ", also highlighted the organization.

In addition to musical programming, the Festival counted tertulias and conversation space, street animation, programming for children, exhibitions, dance, poetry or gastronomy, provided to participants diversified activities for all audiences.

The F Festival has already reached “maturity” and has become an “indisputable brand for Faro, attracting an ever wider, regional, national and foreign audience”, considered the organization, stressing that its goal “is not to grow in size, but to consolidate the F and gradually improve the experience of those who live it”.

“In the 12th edition, the 02, 03 and 04 September 2027, Festival F will maintain its commitment to Portuguese music and will reinforce the bet on Portuguese, due to the very positive response of the public to the approach that took place in this edition, consolidating the dialogue of the festival with the different geographies of the Portuguese language,” he anticipated.
