“ The pure blood of these martyrs will not go unpunished and will certainly be avenged,” Ahmad Vahidi said in a statement broadcast on state television, in which he held the United States responsible for the allegedly attack in the Sirik region in the southeast of the country.
Iranian news agency IRNA and state television reported that two women and two children died in this attack, and at least 68 other people were injured.
The president of the Iranian parliament and head of the Tehran delegation in the indirect negotiations with Washington, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, classified the United States as “Satan” after this case and recalled the bombing of a school in Minab, which killed 155 people, including 120 minors, in the early hours of the Israeli-American offensive, which began on 28 February.
The U.S. military did not respond to Iran’s accusations of the attack during the marriage, they only commented that “they never attack civilians, unlike the Revolutionary Guard.”.
The statements of the leader of the Islamic Republic's ideological force appear on the day Tasnim reported the death of six members of the Iranian Navy in the latest US air raids.
“ During the criminal attacks carried out by the U.S. terrorist army on September 1st against sectors of the country, six members of the Iranian Islamic Republic Navy were martyred,” reported the agency close to the Revolutionary Guard, without specifying the locations.
At least 19 people were killed in Iran between Tuesday and Wednesday in U.S. air strikes, including seven members of the armed forces and the four victims of the marriage in Sirik.
It is still unknown whether the six members of the Iranian Navy are included in the total of 19 deaths of this last wave of clashes, which began with US attacks on Sunday against alleged mine launchers in the Strait of Ormuz.
Iran has sought to retaliate ever since, reaching US bases and interests in neighbouring Gulf countries as potential targets.
Among the latest reports, Kuwait’s air defenses intercepted missiles and drones during a “ flagrant Iranian aggression,” the Defense Ministry indicated on social network X, after Bahrain and Jordan had informed them that they also did so on Wednesday.
Washington and Tehran agreed on 17 June a memorandum of understanding, which included an immediate ceasefire, the reopening of the Ormuz Strait and the lifting of the naval blockade imposed by the United States to Iran's ports.
However, the parties returned to confrontation and their naval blockades and did not continue the negotiations provided for in the Memorandum to reach a final peace agreement, the two-month deadline of which expired.
Iran demands that the United States return to the commitments made in the memorandum and has reiterated that the Ormuz Strait will only be reopened to commercial navigation in exchange for the end of the war on all fronts and the lifting of the US blockade.
The United States has for its part announced sanctions to individuals and entities developing trade relations with Iran in an operation aimed at isolating the Islamic Republic and aggravating the crisis faced by the country.
According to U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, this operation is not aimed at overthrowing the Tehran regime, but at forcing it to conclude a negotiating agreement.
