O President Donald Trump today acknowledged that the war in Iran contributed to the Republican Party's historic defeat in the mid-term elections, but admitted that he would do so again to prevent Tehran from having nuclear weapons.
Asked by journalists about the statements of his vice president, JD Vance, published on social media, in which he considered that the war had been “the reason for defeat,” Donald Trump replied: “I think that’s largely true, because it made gasoline prices rise a little in the short term.”.
“ But at the same time, if it were to do it again, it would do it again because, in the long run, it is the only solution. We cannot let Iran have the nuclear weapon,” the US Head of State added during his first public appearance following the mid-term elections held on Tuesday.
The Democrats inflicted a historic defeat on Donald Trump and his Republican Party by regaining control of the two chambers of the US Congress.
