U33-year-old man was arrested in Funchal, Madeira, for the drug trafficking crime and was in pre-trial detention, said the Security Police (PSP) today, referring to having seized two kilos of hashish during the operation.
“ The arrest occurred following the fulfillment of house search warrants, which were supported by a complex police investigation ", explains the PSP in a statement, pointing out that the man, resident in the municipality of Funchal, was arrested in flagrant offense.
The suspect was found with a “significant amount of narcotic”, already prepared and packed for direct sale to consumers.
“ After home search, large amounts of product suspected of being narcotic were found, confirming this after testing the substances, highlighting the seizure of approximately two kilos of hashish ", says the statement.
Objects and equipment potentially used in drug trafficking were also seized.
The note of the PSP does not indicate on which day the operation took place, but stresses that the man was presented to a criminal investigation judge, and then it was applied to him the most serious coercion measure, the preventive imprisonment.
