A Judicial Police (JP) arrested three people in flagrante delicto, last November 1 in Lisbon, strongly indicted for the practice of kidnapping and extortion crimes.
It all started when, on Sunday, authorities received an alert for a kidnapping. The victim was a man of Bengalese nationality, according to his findings News to Minutes.
The man would owe money to the suspects and at the origin of the kidnapping would be the coercive collection of the alleged debt, with the victim being “deprived of his freedom as a means of pressure from her and her relatives to obtain payment”.
At 9:30 p.m. on that same day, the Judiciary Police managed to locate and release the victim, who was still in the presence of three of the alleged perpetrators, who were arrested in flagrante delicto.
All those involved – suspects and victims – are of the same nationality. Suspects were aged between 24 and 44.
Present to the judicial authority competent for first judicial questioning, the detention measure was applied to the detainees.
The investigation continues with a view to fully clarifying the facts and identifying other possible actors in criminal action.
