Othe clashes intensified even more this weekend, especially between the Hutis and Saudi forces, allied with the Government of Aden, with intense bombings that hit the outskirts of the Yemeni capital, Sana, and the Saudi regions of Asir, where a person was injured, and Najran.

In view of the worsening situation, the President of Yemen also announced this Sunday the beginning of a major counter-offensive, with the aim of expelling the Hutis insurgents from Sana, after more than a decade of control of the capital, and defeat throughout the country the Ansar Allah movement, supported by Iran.

While awaiting a reaction from Saudi Arabia to today's new attacks, Hutis forces spokesperson, Colonel Yahya Sari, announced two operations: one against a state oil plant Aramco in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, and one against a refinery in the Jurais area.

“ Both operations successfully achieved their goals and the attacks were precise, causing great fires in the affected places ", said.

The Hutis announced Saturday attacks on other installations of Saudi state oil, claims denied by Saudi military authorities.

Yahya Sari also reported that Saudi fighter planes, allies of the Yemeni government based in Aden and recognized by the international community, carried out about 50 attacks against the capital, Sana, and the provinces of Al Jawf, Taiz, Amran, Haya and Saada.

The escalation of hostilities occurs after more than a decade of civil war, which began after the Hutis took control of Sana and vast areas of the country at the end of 2014, in a conflict that exacerbated the devastation of Yemen, already one of the poorest countries in the world.

In recent years, the war had passed to the background, in a context of a relative decrease in clashes and exchanges of prisoners, while the Hutis concentrated part of their military activity on attacks against Israel and against navigation in the Red Sea, presented by the movement as a form of support for the Palestinian cause.
