O the number of fatalities of the Saturday - east air raid in Sana rose to 33 civilians, mostly children and women, while 39 were injured, today the Huthis rebel ministry of health reported.

Huthis rebels attribute the attack to the Saudi Arabian-led military coalition in support of the internationally recognized Yemeni government.

“ It increased the number of deaths due to the atrocious massacre perpetrated by the aggression led by Saudi Arabia in the village of Al Shariya, in the Bani Hashish district, east of Sana,” said the ministry, which pointed out that the attack left “33 martyrs and 39 wounded”.

The rebel ministry stated that these figures are preliminary and that among the dead “are 12 men, eight women and 13 children”, while among the wounded “there are 16 men, 10 women and 13 children”.

“The slaughter was the result of several air raids that targeted direct and deliberate civilian housing, first response equipment, civil defense units and roads,” adds the statement.

In the same way, the ministry maintained that “this atrocity is among the most execrable massacres directed against the civilian population,” saying that “air attacks have hit ambulance teams and civilian defense units” while performing rescue operations and first aid.”.

To date, neither Saudi Arabia nor the internationally recognised Yemeni Government has reacted to this information.

The attack is added to another one that occurred last Friday that caused the death of 30 people after a market in Yemeni Taiz province in southwestern Yemen was also bombarded.

The Huthis responsible for Riyadh's military coalition to commit that attack, while the internationally recognized Yemeni military spokesman, Majid al Nuzaili, accused the insurgents of launching that bombing in a disputed zone between both parties.

None of these statements could be verified independently.

This deadly attack takes place in the midst of an offensive in the country that caused more than 1,700 deaths since last August, according to the latest UN figures.
