ANDm reported, the IDF stated that they attacked Hamas “infrastructures” “in response to the detonation of an explosive device” by a military engineering vehicle circulating on the “yellow line” that separates the territory controlled by the two belligerents.
The incident made no casualties, according to the same source.
The Israeli Army classified what happened as “a flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement by the Hamas terrorist organization”.
Hamas spokesperson, Hazem Qassem, said that Israeli accusations “seek to justify the violations of the occupation and the escalation of its aggression” and reiterated that the Islamist movement maintains “the commitment to the ceasefire agreement, in opposition to the continuing violations of it by the occupation.”.
According to reports from the Palestinian newspaper ‘Philastin’, three people were injured earlier this evening following an Israeli bombing against a residence in the Al Tuffa district east of Gaza.
The first phase of the peace plan for Gaza, supported by the US and agreed between Israel and Hamas in October 2025, focused on an immediate military ceasefire and the exchange of prisoners for hostages, being mediated by the US, Qatar, Egypt and Turkey.
While the first phase established a temporary suspension of hostilities, complex issues concerning permanent governance, long-term security and full disarmament of Hamas were postponed to subsequent stages of the agreement.
Hamas leader Jalil al Haya warned of the worsening situation in the Gaza Strip and called for an immediate end to the escalation of attacks and strict compliance with the obligations agreed in the first phase of the peace plan.
According to the organization in a statement quoted by the newspaper ‘Philastin’, Al Haya conveyed to mediators and allied governments his concern at the escalation of attacks during the conflict.
Hamas denounced that the resumption of selective attacks and military operations, which claims to extend to the West Bank and access to the Al Aqsa mosque, undermines the prospects for stabilisation and violates multilateral commitments relating to recovery and reconstruction.
In this sense, al Haya urged the mediating parties, the representatives of Egypt and Qatar, to exert the necessary pressure to immediately authorize the entry of rescue and assistance material.
For their part, the mediating countries reaffirmed during the talks their commitment to maintain emergency assistance to the civilian population and ensured that diplomatic efforts will continue with actors with the capacity to ensure full implementation of the White House agreement.
The Gaza Strip war was triggered by Hamas-led attacks on 7 October 2023 in southern Israel, in which some 1,200 people died and 251 were taken hostage.
In retaliation, Israel launched a large-scale military operation in the enclave, which caused more than 73,000 deaths, according to local authorities controlled by Hamas, which do not distinguish civilians from fighters from the Islamist movement, considered a terrorist by Israel, the European Union, the United States and several other countries.
Since the beginning of the current ceasefire, agreed in October last year, the Gaza Strip authorities have counted more than 1,300 Palestinians killed in attacks by Israeli forces, not detailing how many were Hamas fighters.
