The areas of Lisbon, Porto and Setúbal have since June a new TVDE platform, created to offer a “freer experience”, with the particularity of the user being able to choose the driver, Lusa told one of the founders.

AND. statements to the agency Lusa, Luís Pinto, founder of VLOZ, explained that the Portuguese TVDE platform is licensed by the Institute of Mobility and Transport (IMT) since the development phase, is operating since June in Lisbon, Porto and Setúbal.
“ VLOZ’s main distinguishing elements in relation to direct competition are the possibility for passengers to choose the driver from those available at each time and the remuneration of the distance travelled to the passenger’s collection point,” Luís Pinto explained.
According to the person responsible “it made no sense (...) to enter the market and not bring a differentiation”, so “we understand (...) [start] with a product that can give something more, bring some added value to market participants and be able to have a space”.
In two months of operation, Luís Pinto states that the platform already has a community “of about two thousand users, between drivers and passengers”, adding that the numbers “grow daily and consistently”.
VLOZ users have the possibility to choose the driver from among those available at each time and to build a list of favorites, making each trip “freer and more personalized” and also a filter per language, “thought to facilitate communication and make the experience closer”.
“ Until now, the passenger's decision ended in choosing a category. At VLOZ, we want to go further: give information, freedom of choice and the possibility of creating a relationship of trust with the professionals who provide the service ", said Luís Pinto.
According to the person responsible, VLOZ also has “more transparent conditions for drivers”, since the platform applies a 20% commission and remunerates the distance traveled to the passenger’s collection point, “a route that normally represents time and costs for the professional”.
The VLOZ app for passengers is available for Android and iPhone, while for professionals, VLOZ Driver is currently only available for Android, and is still in development, with no scheduled release date, the iOS version.
VLOZ allows payments with MB WAY and participates in the MB WAY UP! program, which assigns 5% cashback (return) on trips paid by this means, in accordance with the conditions in force in the program.
