As household incomes can increase up to 2.56% next year, according to the average Consumer Price Index (IPC), without housing, registered in the last 12 months until August, whose value was disclosed on Monday by the National Statistical Institute (INE).

It should be noted that this is the value that is based on the coefficient used for the annual updating of rents for the next year under the New Urban Rent Scheme (NRAU).

The effective value of updating the rents will then be published in Diário da República until October 30.

Only after publication in Diário da República will the owners be able to announce to the tenants the increase in income, and the rise can only actually occur 30 days after this notice.

The inflation rate increased to 3.3% in August, in homologous terms, against 3.0% in the previous month, driven by rising fuel prices, according to the rapid estimate released by the NSA.
