O weekend was mourning in the music industry. The singer Lucas, from the Brazilian country duo Lucas & Matheus, died on Saturday 15 August.
José Figueiras wished to pay tribute to the artist on his Instagram page, having recalled a unique moment that lived with Lucas and his brother, Matheus, who died in 2020, the victim of Covid-19.
“Luke and Matthew... what memories and moments of great sharing we trace together throughout this world. I miss you”, wrote the host of SIC along with a video in which he appears singing with the duo behind the scenes.
According to G1, who cites information from the artist's family, Lucas died in Portugal early last Saturday. She was in the apartment where she lived and had a heart attack at dawn. The singer was to perform in Esposende on the same day, August 15, and there was still a concert scheduled for August 21 in the Azores.
Soon after his death there were many Portuguese artists who lamented the departure of the Brazilian singer. “Today we say goodbye to Luke, who now joins his brother Matthew. Together, they formed an unforgettable duo, which marked a generation and left many eternal successes in our hearts. Your talent, your music and your legacy will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, Lucas”, wrote the singer Agata.
Lucas' nephew Matheus Junior, who paired with his uncle in music, also broke the silence. The young artist shared in the stories of his Instagram page a publication in which he was identified by Dr. Breno Erbella Casari. In this publication you see the photograph of the sky with an image of Luke. “One more little star was to live with God”, one can read in the image.
Lucas stood out in the music world alongside his brother, Matheus, with the duo Lucas & Matheus. After the death of Matheus, who died in 2020, the victim of Covid-19, Lucas remained on stage with Matheus' son Matheus Junior. At the time, the duo became Lucas & Matheus Junior.
