O Russian Defense Ministry stated that its forces shot down 1,100 Ukrainian drones across the country as well as the Ukrainian peninsula annexed to Crimea and the Black Sea waters. For now, there's knowledge of two dead.

Moscow City Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said, quoted by international agencies, that 450 drones were destroyed en route to the Russian capital. Previously, local authorities had spoken of 338 drones.

Some drones hit Moscow Oil Refinery and a residential building, he said.

The attack takes place on the third and final day of the vote in the first parliamentary elections of Russia in time of war, a vote practically devoid of opposition to the policies of the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, and which should almost certainly consolidate the rule of the Kremlin.

Earlier, and quoted by the official news agency TASS, Moscow region governor Andrey Vorobyov, said that at least 338 drones were shot down while heading to Moscow, with a visible fire in a refinery lighting the capital sky.

In a message on the Telegram, Vorobyov reported that Russia’s air defense systems “slaughtered and neutralized” 249 drones in 17 districts, a number that TASS raised to 338 approaching the capital.

“In Sofyino, a drone hit a three-story apartment building, damaging six top floor dwellings. Unfortunately, a 44-year-old woman died,” Vorobyov wrote.

“Another person died in the municipality of Orekhovo-Zuevo. An elderly man was in a house that was destroyed and burned down as a result of the drone attack,” said the governor, who added that the attack continued and warned of damage in several districts.

The governor of Moscow also declared that three blocks of apartments of the Novye Kotelniki residential complex in the city were damaged. In addition, a residential building and an industrial facility suffered damage in the city of Istra, northwest of Moscow.

In turn, TASS reported that more than 30 flights could not land at Moscow airports due to security restrictions.
