EBIT stood at $3,269 million (about 2,908 million), plus 155% compared to 2025.
Maersk justified these results by increasing freight rates and volumes in the maritime segment as well as by continuing growth in logistics and services divisions.
The Danish group has updated the annual forecasts, and now expects an underlying EBIT of between US$8,000 and 8,500 million (between about EUR 7.117 and 7,562 million), compared to a forecast of between US$ 4,500 and 6,500 million (between about EUR 4,003 and 5,783 million) in August.
Cited in a statement, the company’s CEO, Vincent Clerc, stressed that global trade remained resilient in the third quarter despite geopolitical uncertainties and supply disruptions.
“The demand is being driven not only by consumption, but increasingly by large investments in electrification, energy and the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence infrastructure (IA), which generated significant industrial load flows worldwide,” the CEO said.
