Uthree-month-old girl died on Saturday morning while camping with her family in Staffordshire, United Kingdom. Two men and two women were arrested on suspicion of murder, but in the meantime, they've already been released on bail.
The incident took place at 8.45 p.m. on Saturday outside Great Wyrley, and the baby went “heart failure,” according to a statement issued this Monday by Staffordshire Police.
The authorities pointed out that, despite efforts, the death was declared on site.
Four people were arrested in the context of the investigation, namely a 42-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman from southern Staffordshire, a 20-year-old woman from Wolverhampton, and an 18-year-old man from Walsall. The four suspects are now on probation.
“I want to assure the local community that we are working tirelessly to investigate the circumstances of this tragic incident that, understandably, caused concern. While we can confirm that the four people were arrested on suspicion of murder, we continue to work hard to obtain further evidence and keep an open mind on the circumstances of death at this very early stage, which we are treating as an isolated incident. The four people were arrested at the scene of the incident and were released on bail,” said Detective Inspector Josh Lee, in the letter released by the authorities.
The person responsible assumed to be “probable that speculations arise about the nature of this incident,” but called for the general population to get updates on the case on official channels and to “evoid sharing unconfirmed and speculative allegations online.”.
