Miguel Oliveira, who had pulled from the 19th position of the grid, after recording the time of 1.36,080 minutes in the Superpole, fell during the first part of the race and failed to return to the track.

The Portuguese BMW pilot did not participate, therefore, in the resumption of the race, interrupted with red flag after the fall of the British Tommy Bridewell (Ducati), whose motorcycle damaged the protections in the inner zone of turn 15.

The race, initially scheduled for 21 laps to the French circuit, was resumed with a reduced duration to 12, already without Miguel Oliveira and five other drivers involved in different incidents.

“ The support of the Portuguese is unique. Thank you so much for always being on this side and for all the affection. It is a great pride to feel this support, wherever we are”, thanked the driver of Almada, on social networks.

The Italian Nicolò Bulega (Ducati), leader of the championship, won the race after leaving the pole position, reaching the 24th victory of the season and the 44th career in the Superbikes World Cup. Bulega finished with 3,118 seconds of advantage over Spanish Iker Lecuona (Ducati), second ranked.

British Sam Lowes (Ducati) completed the podium, 6,293 seconds from the winner, while Italian Yari Montella (Ducati) was fourth and British Alex Lowes (Bimota) finished fifth.

Despite the triumph of Bulega, Lecuona's second place postponed the world title decision at least until the next round in Cremona, Italy.

The French journey continues on Sunday with the Superpole race and the second main race.
