Athe races of the Australian Grand Prix MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 were cancelled today due to bad weather, which prevented the operation of the medical helicopter for lack of visibility, announced the organization.

The decision was made after successive postponements of the program on Phillip Island, stage of the 18th round of the season, on a day when the MotoGP heating session was not held either.

The organisation justified the cancellation with the “limited visibility affecting the operation of the medical helicopter”, making it impossible to carry out the tests under safety conditions.

After canceling the Moto3 and Moto2 races, the race direction still provisionally established the opening of the boxing route to MotoGP at 16:00 locals, but eventually gave up the main race.

“ The conditions were acceptable, but the absence of the helicopter was a problem ", said the Spanish Marc Márquez (Ducati), ensuring that the pilots were prepared to compete.

Ducati’s manager, Davide Tardozzi, also regretted the outcome, but stressed that “safety is a priority”, despite considering Márquez one of the favorites under the conditions.

The cancellation marked the farewell of Phillip Island's MotoGP World Cup since the Australian Grand Prix moved to Adelaide in 2027.

To thank the fans for their presence, the organization announced a tour of honor of the pilots behind the safety car, with a stop on the main line to greet the public.

No main race, Marc Márquez saves the 365 points with which he finished Saturday, 10 more than compatriot Jorge Martín (Aprilia) and 50 than Italian Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia).

Ducati's driver had regained the championship's lead by winning the sprint, in which Martín suffered a fall when discussing the first places, fractured the radio and was prevented from participating in today's race.

The annulment thus prevents Márquez from taking advantage of the absence of the main opponent to increase the advantage in the classification.

In Moto2, the Spanish Manuel González retains a 5.5-point advantage over the countryman Izan Guevara, while the Moto3 title is already handed over to also Spanish Maximo Quiles, champion in the previous round in Indonesia.

The World Cup continues next weekend with the Malaysian Grand Prix on the Sepang circuit.
