Mourinho boycotts the press conference of Real Madrid-Villarreal

“I’m not going to talk, because I want to sit on the bench of alternates, against Sevilla and Barcelona,” José Mourinho said, in anger with arbitration, after Real Madrid’s victory over Villareal, for 1-0.

José Mourinho chose not to attend, this Saturday, in the traditional press conference of analysis to the triumph won by ‘your’ Real Madrid, on the Villarreal, in Santiago Bernabéu, by 1-0, in protest against the exhibition signed by the arbitration team led by Isidro Díaz de Mera Escuderos.

“I’m not going to talk, because I want to sit on the bench of alternates, against Sevilla and Barcelona”, said the Portuguese coach, according to the Spanish newspaper Tag, following the meeting on the eighth day of La Liga, whose decisive goal emerged at the passage of the 62 minutes, by the feet of Yan Diomandé, summer reinforcement acquired from Leipzig, for more than EUR 100 million.

At the center of the controversy was (again) Vinícius Junior, who began the meeting of the eighth day of La Liga sitting on the bench of alternates, from where he ‘jumped’, to the place of Trent Alexander-Arnold, in the initial moments of the second half. Just 20 minutes later, he scored, but the bid was promptly cancelled by the VAR, who considered that he pulled Nathan-Dylan Saliba's hair.

As a result of this action, the Brazilian international was punished with a direct red card, to which he reacted in total fury. A feeling that extended, moreover, to Special One himself, who did not hide the indignation towards the decision of the 37-year-old judge, to the point of refusing to speak to journalists after the final whistle.

The supporters of the Merenges were also frustrated by the episode, which was reflected in songs such as “Corruption in the Federation”, “Tebas, go away” or “Negrira continues there”, the latter in reference to the so popular case in which the eternal rival, Barcelona, is accused of payments made to José María Enríquez Negreira, former vice president of the Technical Committee of Arbitros of the Real Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).

Vinícius Júnior asks "forgive me" ... and counterattacks

By the end of the night, Vinícius Júnior would turn to the official Instagram social network account to react to this (polyemic) episode, published a photograph in which appears to cancel the goal he scored, before it was invalidated, accompanied by the caption: “Joy continues... Forgive my team and the fans”.

However, the Brazilian international did not stop here, since, in the ‘story’, she shared a sequence of images of an account of a group of supporters related to the bid that cost her expulsion, in which the phrase could be read: “And the one who always receives the yellows and the reds is Vinicius, what a shame.”.

What's next for José Mourinho?

Pollémica apart, Real Madrid now turns its attention to the meeting of the second round of the League of Champions league, in which it will face AS Roma, from 8 p.m. (Hour of Continental Portugal) next Wednesday, at the Olympic Stadium in Rome.

A ‘special taste’ match for José Mourinho, since Portuguese coach José Mourinho will have the opportunity to meet the team he directed between 2021 and 2024, and for which he won a Europe Conference League.
