A real Madrid's victory against Barcelona did not go blank before the international press, with José Mourinho being one of the main targets in the analysis of the various media.
The Portuguese technician managed to circumvent expectations of injuries and punishments of important players (such as Thibaut Courtois and Vinícius Júnior, respectively) to break down the leader who was until then unbeatable in La Liga.
The Spanish newspaper Tag notes that Barcelona “had reason to fear the return of Mourinho” and that Portuguese did not “conquer Camp Nou for the fourth time in any way”.
This comment is due to the fact that Real Madrid did not go to this game in full force, since it had significant losses, between injured and punished.
The piece of analysis to the meeting had even Mourinho as a highlight, with a title that described the Portuguese technician as “the terror of Camp Nou”, after a Classic that was a “all or nothing” for the merengues, since they could have stayed nine points from the rivals.
The diary, though Sport points to a “show of Mourinho”, who returned to a Camp Nou after several years of absence of Spanish football and was not with half measures. This publication shows that, at minute 10, Real Madrid’s coach “jumped like a wolf” from the bench of alternates after a foul, to “eat his prey Martínez Munuera”, with the audience singing “come to the theater, Mourinho, come to the theater”.
Outside the Spanish environment, the The Athletic analyzed the “masterclass” of the portuguese technician, admitting that “this was the most solid display he presented against his rivals for some time”, after having made a change in the approach without possession of the ball, with more aggressive than usual.
“ In view of the recent dominance of Barcelona in this confrontation, Mourinho will be delighted with the competitiveness that his team has shown throughout the game and has reduced the difference in ranking to three points,” wrote the English media.
Still in England, the BBC Sport admits that “José Mourinho did it again”, keeping the “play midas against rivals” after a goal of Kylian Mbappé’s victory, near the end of the game.
In Italy, there is a greater thought in the aftermath of El Clásico. “José Mourinho is back.” That is what the Gazzetta dello Sport about the coach who gave so much joy to italian football during his career.
“ He never left the profession, but smaller positions between Istanbul and Lisbon reduced the energy of his career,” wrote the newspaper azzurri, before evaluating Mourinho's approach to the game.
“Boldie focused on football, despite being accused of focusing on other things, and was rewarded. Mourinho had not gone to Camp Nou since 2013, but the Barcelona kryptonite continues”, he considered.
