The attack takes place in a context of rapid escalation of the conflict between the Huthis rebels of Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
On Saturday, the attack on the international airport of Riyadh, attributed to the Huthis – but which the rebels did not claim – made at least 12 dead and 309 injured, some in a serious state, in one of the most deadly attacks in Saudi Arabia.
For their part, the Huthis denounced today an attack, which they attributed to the Saudis, the airport of Yemen's capital Sanaa, controlled by the rebels.
The announcement was broadcast on television, but the Huthis did not provide details.
