A Netflix announced this Tuesday, November 3, that its first film in Portugal began to be recorded. It is called “Operation TAP” and is freely inspired by the actual facts of a hijacking of a TAP flight in 1980.
“An armed teenager diverts a plane to Madrid and requires $10 million, turning passengers and crew into hostages of a night of tension and uncertainty,” he can read in Netflix’s official synopsis. “But what begins as a threat of violence ends up revealing an unexpected story of empathy and humanity between the young kidnapper and those who hold hostages.”.
The film will be directed by João Nuno Pinto (“Mosquito”, “18 Holes for Paradise”) and has in the cast Rui Pedro Silva (“Restos do Vento”, “Maria Vitória”), Afonso Pimentel (“Memoirs of the Cárcere”, “Rabo de Peixe”) and Victoria Guerra (“Amor Impossible”, “Gloria”).
