O remake of one of the most beloved animes ever has a debut date – and more! The teaser of “The One Piece” is now officially available.
The clip, with just under a minute, was published this Wednesday by Netflix, to whom belongs this new adaptation of Eiichiro Oda's 1997 mango. The teaser begins by showing the moment when Gol D. Roger is executed, then passing through some of the most memorable moments of the beginning of Monkey D. Luffy's journey and counting on his first comrades in search of One Piece (Nami, Usopp and Zoro) and without forgetting Shanks.

The images also show the remarkable difference between the quality of the animation of “One Piece”, which began to be issued in 1999, and this new version, with a sharper trace, more vibrant colors and more fluid action.
The great goal of remake is not only to modernize the story, but also to create a gateway for new fans, who have known Luffy's adventure with the live action version. The original anime, with over a thousand episodes – which are still in progress – turns out to be quite intimidating. Remake (if continued) should also greatly reduce the number of episodes.
The first season (and for now the only confirmed one, since Netflix is only allowed to use the first 50 manga chapters) will have seven episodes, each of which will have between 40 and 50 minutes – unlike what usually happens in animes, where each episode is around 20 minutes. In total, the season will take 300 minutes and will end in Baratie, with the introduction of the character Sanji.
The remake is being produced by WIT Studio, known for adapting the first seasons of Attack on Titan and SpyXFamily. The direction is from Masashi Koizuka, Taku Kishimoto's script and the character design of Kyoji Asano and Takatoshi Honda.
“The One Piece” arrives at Netflix in February 2027, with the seven episodes to be made available on the same day.
