Na debate in plenary to discuss the proposal for legislative authorization for the government to lower the IRS in 2026, Joaquim Miranda Sarmento said that, with the state budget that the executive will present, there will be the sixth tax relief since the PSD and the CDS-PP are in the government, in the last two and a half years.
“The Budget will bring up-to-date echelons, specific deduction, minimum of existence”, he said, following a question from the CDS-PP Member Paulo Nuncio, who asked how many times more the government will reduce the tax by the end of the legislature.
Not to mention whether the budget proposal will contain a further decline in IRS rates in relation to the rates proposed by the executive in the legislative initiative under discussion, still concerning the incomes of 2026, Joaquim Miranda Sarmento referred to the new reduction in IRS as a result of those three amendments.
