A Ford is developing a pick-up that opens a new generation of 100 percent electric models in the United States of America – a revolution that goes from the electric platform to the factory itself.
This week, the manufacturer's executive director shared new images and video on social media, where you can see camouflaged prototypes walking through the streets of Las Vegas (Nevada).
In the publication, the leader explained the “Sin City”: “The team was in the desert in hot-time testing of the new Ford Fathom and made a detour through Las Vegas to share our new name.”.
With the images now revealed – even if they are prototypes – you can see that ford Fathom will be far from having the dimensions and robustness of an F-150 – being considerably smaller and with a relatively short load floor.
This truck, very early by Ford, will be unveiled as early as next year, before it reaches the American market. Sits on the new EV Platform Universal platform for affordable electric models, it is intended to be marketed from the 28,350 dollars (about 24,600 euros at the current exchange rate).
Despite this first public appearance in a large urban center, there are still no technical details of Fathom, but it is known that it will have five seats, two-way vehicle-to-load (V2L), load capacity reinforced by a “frunk” ahead or BlueCruise system with integrated Apple Maps navigation.
It is also known that, from the entrance, it will have rear traction and a battery of iron and lithium phosphate. But there is no data on performance or autonomy.
