Qdid you say the ironing iron is just to leave the clothes without creases? In fact, this small household appliance is capable of many wonders in various parts of the house, as highlighted by an article on Martha Stewart's website.
Sarah McAllister, founder and CEO of GoCleanGo, highlights six different uses, one of them, to remove base marks from wooden tableware.
6 different ways to use iron
To remove water or heat marks from wood
White and opaque markings on wooden furniture usually indicate that the moisture was encrusted on the surface.
To resolve this put a fine cotton cloth on the stain and put the hot iron on top without steam. Do it at short intervals, checking the area frequently.
To remove furniture marks from carpet
The carpets have ‘holes’ of the feet of the tables. To level the surface, again, place a damp cloth on the mark and apply steam constantly. When the fibers relax, level them again with your fingers.
To remove candle wax from tablecloths or rugs
If perhaps pieces of candle wax have fallen on your tablecloth or carpet, there is a way to remove it. First, let it dry, once you move it while it's soft, you can spread it more.
Once solid, scrape as much as possible with a spoon and then place a clean paper bag or cloth over the area. Put the iron on top, with lower temperature. This allows wax to be transferred to paper or cloth.
If you notice a slight fat mark after removing the wax just rub it with a damp cloth or a little detergent on the stain and dry with light touches.
To remove wax pencil stains
If you have young children, this trick might be useful to you. When you see risks of wax pencils, use the same technique to remove candle wax.
To remove glue residue
If you are having trouble removing waste furniture stickers use ironing iron. Place a sheet of vegetable paper in the area and apply lower heat. Once the glue warms, it can be removed without difficulty.
