Carlos Carvalhal's passage through the Famalicão comes to an end. Sp. Braga's former coach was SAD's bet for this new season, occupying the place left by Hugo Oliveira, but never managed to impose his ideas. What did Carvalhal say after the fall in the Cup?
Carlos Carvalhal admitted, on Sunday night, that the Famalicão could not handle the “direct game” of the Paredes, despite having worked the team in this sense.
“ First of all, congratulations to Walls for moving on to the next round. It was a game where, I agree, Paredes came in with a very strong attitude. They did a very good first part. The 1-0 was justified at the interval, no doubt. We must recognize it”, he said in the press room.
“ The second part, I think, was different. We had more ball in the offensive midfield, played closer to the opposing goal. We couldn't score and it happened Cup, which happens many times. We're sad, very sad for the fans. We're sad, the players are sad. Obviously, it is part of life ", analyzed.
“Today, the Walls team, with a very strong attitude, made a goal. We reacted, we couldn't score, and Walls won. Walls didn't surprise us at all. Absolutely nothing. We knew how he played, we prepared for the way he played. We knew they played a lot of direct games, we knew the goalkeepers had a very long kick. We had to be strong to win the first ball, stronger still to win the second ball ", argued Carvalhal.
