The 5 reasons that make “GTA VI” one of the most anticipated games ever

O release of “GTA VI” is one of the most expected of this second half of 2026 and even if the game does not arrive until november 19, the interested already have the opportunity to guarantee their copies – even if the version sold in retail stores only include a code to download.

Since “GTA VI” will take place in Vice City in modern times, we can certainly find multiple references to real-world polemics and carious situations. However, with “Red Dead Redemption” and “Red Dead Redemption II”, Rockstar Games has also shown that it can have games with memorable stories and characters that enter the history of the world of video games.

We still do not know which direction Rockstar Games will take with “GTA VI”, but given that the story of the game will follow a couple of criminals – Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos – there is clearly great potential.

5 – Waiting time

As much quality as it is recognized to the “GTA” saga and Rockstar Games as a producer, the truth is that much of the enthusiasm around “GTA VI” is due to the time that fans had to wait.

The latest franchise title, "GTA V", was released in September 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. This means that when “GTA VI” was released, fans had to wait more than 13 years for the release.

Although the online “GTA V” mode has served fans to entertain themselves, the truth is that the generation of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One was not entitled to any new franchise game. Even though during that time Rockstar Games released “Red Dead Redemption II” and this title is still acclaimed by players and critics, the Wild West scenario is not at all equivalent to the impact that has a new “GTA”.
