Rui Simões reacted publicly to the news of a couple, namely the man, who has photographed unduly minors and women at Monte Clérigo beach in Aljezur, Algarve.
The communicator was shocked by the fact that more drastic measures were not taken against them.
“ I do not believe that it was police negligence, that is my conviction, I do not believe that there is a policeman in this country who after seeing a phone loaded with pictures of children thinks: 'let them go there to their lives'.
I think we have laws in this country that aren't working, at least for this particular case. I do not understand any laws but what I know is that the evidence is identified, a mobile phone is seen [...] and they can go to their lives. Sometimes it feels like we're just waiting for a tragedy to happen and then to remedy what happened, instead of having a law that prevents such cases when they're identified [continue to happen]. Keep your eyes open, I'm sure there are dozens,” he said.
