Por while, it's just a concept, but it may not stay that long. Peugeot admits that E-T16 Concept presented at the Paris Motor Show can reach the production already in 2027.
The base is the STLA One platform, which will also be on the new E-208. And it's not the only point in common with the cityman: “We have many elements of the new E-208. We can do it like this, as you see it here. We can make this car next year. We'll see“, the executive director of the brand, Alain Favey, told the publication Autocar.
Inspired by 205 T16, the concept is radical in its lines and specifications, proposing 816 hp power thanks to two electric motors and an 85 kWh battery for up to 400 km autonomy (WLTP combined cycle) rechargeable from 10 to 80 percent in less than 15 minutes.
It may seem far-fetched for a little tram, but.. Alain Favey has ensured that “it is technically feasible”. It remains to be seen whether Peugeot and Stellantis will find sense in bringing it to production in the future – possibly a niche and low volume model. But the Renault 5 Turbo 3E, which is a success despite costing well over 100,000 euros, shows that a bet like this can succeed.
The leader also made a point of ensuring that the announced performance data “are real facts. If we make this car, we can do it. This is the performance we can achieve.”.
