“ A determined and united mobilization of the French-based EasyJet pilots allowed the resumption of a more serious dialogue with the administration,” said the French Airline Pilots Union (SNPL) in a press release.
In the note, the union “welcomes this development, but remains vigilant”, because “ firm commitments have not yet been made on the main demands, particularly as regards the stability of working hours and conditions”.
To give the resumption of negotiations “a real chance of success”, the SNPL postponed the strike notice from 13 and 14 September to 24 and 25 September 2026.
Professionals have denounced the “chronic instability” of their schedules, since, they said, “a pilot is often faced at the end of the month with a work schedule that does not present a single day identical” to that planned at the beginning of the month.
In August, EasyJet faced a two-day strike by French-based flight attendants against the “continuous degradation” of working conditions, which resulted in an agreement that provides for five days a month with fixed scales and compensation for changes exceeding two hours.
The SNPL regretted EasyJet’s refusal to grant pilots the same conditions, even if they “operate the same aircraft, the same scales and the same operating environment” as the cabin crew.
