Adriano Moreira, who started a work visit to Angola that goes on until Friday, spoke to the press at the end of a meeting that he held with the Angolan Secretary of State for Social Action, Dina Mayimona.
The Portuguese ruler stressed that Portugal now needs workers to continue to grow and to respond to its companies.
“Our coming here is to raise awareness of the Angolan community so that they can do so through the official channels, so that they can contact the official institutions of the Angolan Government here,” Adriano Moreira said.
According to the responsible, this mobility will be supported by existing protocols between Portuguese and Angolan official bodies to ensure the proper working conditions.
“On the Portuguese side they will have a labor contract waiting and the steps are taken with a certainty that may not happen otherwise,” he stressed.
The meeting also served to address social aspects “that should not be overlooked,” said the Portuguese Secretary of State.
“ This formal and official way of starting the process ensures that this social coverage will appear from the moment that it is necessary, from access to health, protection in unemployment, other social needs that will be felt in Portugal will have to be guaranteed from the base ", highlighted Adriano Moreira.
The Portuguese ruler reiterated the “importance that the first step should be taken with the institutions that the Angolan government selects as its gateway to the search for work in Portugal”.
Adriano Moreira highlighted the appointment and the beginning of functions of the Labor Attaché in Luanda, so that the formal part of the visas is facilitated.
Vocational training is another issue that Portugal intends to ensure that “the maximum is given at the origin in Angola, but if necessary finished in Portugal”.
The economy is growing in several sectors, said the Portuguese ruler, and the social sector was analyzed in concrete.
In turn, the Angolan Secretary of State for Social Action considered the meeting positive, highlighting the cooperation between the Ministry of Social Action, Family and Women's Promotion of Angola and the Ministry of Labor of Portugal, to promote the economic autonomy of families, reduce the situation of vulnerability and strengthen the processes of productive and social inclusion.
“ Now at this meeting we reiterate our willingness to collaborate within the framework of our competences so that this initiative produces sustainable results”, said Dina Mayimona, added that there will be a link between different sectors.
The programme of the visit until Friday provides for other official meetings and visits to vocational training institutions as well as meetings with Portuguese companies.
