A women's Portuguese football team today receives Northern Ireland in Portimão, managing a 4-0 advantage in the second hand of Way 1 of the first qualifying play-off for the World Cup2027.
Four days after the election in Larne, Francisco Neto's group will be reunited with the British from 19:15 at the Portimão Municipal Stadium in a game arbitrated by Italian Silvia Gasperotti.
Telma Incarnação, de penalti, Jéssica Silva, Rebecca Holloway, at its own goal, and Fátima Pinto scored the goals of Portugal at the start of the elimination, which will precede another play-off of access to the World Cup2027.
In the next phase, also played in two hands and scheduled for November 26th and December 5th, the Portuguese may face Croatia or Iceland, which again measure forces today, after the triumph outside the Nordics (4-0).
Portugal reached the play-off after the first position in Group B3, of direct promotion to League A of the League of Nations, and seeks to repeat the unprecedented participation in World Cup2023.
The 10th edition of the Women's World Championship will take place in Brazil between June 24 and July 25, 2027, with 32 selections of six confederations.
