A Associação Black Bulls (ABB), trained by Portuguese Nélson Santos, was a third time football champion in Mozambique, winning in Cabo Delgado the Bay of Pemba for 1-0.
The team of the Maputo province entered the Pemba Municipal Stadium, at the other end of the country, knowing that the victory on the 27th journey ‘carimbava’ in advance the national title, after the most direct stalker, the Costa de Sol, trained by another Portuguese, Horácio Gonçalves, have lost on Thursday, in the field of the Nampula Railway, by 3-1.
For the conquest of the ‘tours’ of Maputo was worth the solo goal of Gadre, just at 12 minutes.
The Black Bulls won the first title of the Moçazbola in 2021, then trained by the Portuguese Hélder Duarte, who again gave the championship to the team outside the city of Maputo in 2024, but failed the two-time championship in 2025.
At the age of 41, Nélson Santos succeeded in the beginning of 2026 to Hélder Duarte, who finished the Moçambola of 2025 in second place.
Nélson Santos built much of his professional career in Portugal, where he integrated technical teams from Belenenses, Marítimo, B SAD, Mafra and, more recently, from Tondela.
The technician returned this year to Mozambique, where he has worked on the Costa do Sol and the Railways of Maputo and Nampula, this being his fourth experience in football in the country. In 2017, he won the Mozambique Cup at the service of the Costa do Sol.
