A controversy about design did not prevent ferrari Luce's first copy of being sold for $40 million at an auction held during Monterey Car Week. It was held until yesterday in the United States.
The auction was chassis 0Which is why it's the first of all of that which is Ferrari's first 100% electric model. It also marks the manufacturer's debut in the five-seat models.
The amount amounts to around EUR 34.5 million, at the current exchange rate – in an auction that had a kind of solidarity, since all the funds raised will revert to the Ferrari Foundation and its work on initiatives in the field of education.
The concrete copy is decorated in white Madreperla Semi-Gloss, a specifically developed color. Also inside the white master (Perla Le Mans metallic leather), adding details in grey Grigio Corvara. The rims are dedicated while the brake clamps are customized. A dedicated board distinguishes this Luce as the 0 chassis.
To remember that Ferrari Luce is based on an 800-volt electric platform, having four engines (one on each wheel) capable of debiting 1,049 hp of power together. The 122 kWh battery allows a range of up to 529 km (WLTP).
The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is in 2.5 seconds, with the tip speed exceeding 310 km/h. Microphones capture the sound of electric motors and amplify it, thus providing a noise proper to the electric car without simulating the sound of combustion engines.
Buyer will still have to wait
Although the auction is complete, the buyer of this Ferrari Luce will still have to wait to have it in his hands. According to the initiative page, secured by RM Sotheby’s, the vehicle would return to Maranello, being the delivery only in the first quarter of next year.
