Uluigi Mangione's cousin, a young man who killed the CEO of UnitedHealthcare in December 2024, won the local elections in Baltimore, United States, on Tuesday night.

Nino Mangione of the Republican Party won a victory with a small margin, just four percentage points, against Democratic candidate Shawn Moclntosh, in a spot in Baltimore County District 5.

Local elections, it should be noted, coincided with the mid-term elections of the United States.

According to the American press, during the campaign, Nino Mangione promised to support the police forces and harsher punishments for criminals.

“ Violent criminals must be sentenced to the maximum penalty, showing the repeat offenders that their actions will no longer be tolerated”, points one of the promises on their campaign site.

Nino Mangione was a member of the Maryland House of Delegates between 2019 and 2026. Currently, it features The Right Side, a conservative radio show at a local Baltimore station.

It is recalled that Luigi Mangione pleaded guilty to the charges of persecution in one of the two cases he faces in the case in 2024 in New York.

Luigi Mangione, 28, is accused of shooting Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthCare, in Manhattan, New York, in December 2024.

In a surprising unfolding, Mangione reversed his previous declaration of innocence in the federal court, while members of Thompson's family were watching from the front row at a time when the court in downtown Manhattan was full.

After answering a series of questions from U.S. district judge Margaret Garnett, Mangione read a statement.

“ After years of intense pain due to a spinal fracture while facing health system obstacles, I discovered that UnitedHealthcare would hold its annual investor conference in New York City on December 4, 2024,” he said. “I traveled to New York with the intention of shooting Brian Thompson. On December 4, 2024, I shot Brian Thompson and he died. When I did that, I knew my actions would put him at risk of death or serious injury. I knew what I was doing.”

Mangione assumes that he shot UnitedHealthcare CEO: “I shot”

Luigi Mangione, 28, remember, is accused of shooting Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthCare, in Manhattan, New York, in December 2024.
