O PSD classifies as “lack of shame” the proposal of the Secretary-General of the PS to increase supplements of security forces and services and accuses the socialist leadership of missing “Gerigonça” when visiting the demonstration for housing.
These criticisms were made by the social-democratic parliamentary leader, Hugo Soares, in his speech at the closing session of the general debate on the proposal by the State Budget Government for 2026 in Parliament.
A speech in which Hugo Soares spoke of “a courtship in color and live” between the PS and the Aquida, in which he asked for a sense of responsibilities to the oppositions so that the proposal of the Budget Government is not distorted in the specialty, but in which he aimed above all the socialist Secretary-General, José Luís Carneiro – leader of the party that, through abstention, will enable the budget proposal in general.
Moments earlier, José Luís Carneiro had announced that he would present, in a debate in the specialty, a proposal to increase the supplements of the security forces. Hugo Soares took this initiative to remember the time when the PS Secretary-General performed the duties of Minister of Internal Administration.
The PSD parliamentary leader said that Parliament is facing “the ultimate exponent of political hypocrisy when José Luís Carneiro announces that he will defend in the specialty the increase in the supplements of security forces and services”.
“José Luís Carneiro was Minister of Internal Administration. With the pen in hand, I watched the strikes and demonstrations of security forces and services because it did not increase the risk supplements, but now comes here to say that, with this government governing, it would have the courage to increase the supplements ", said Hugo Soares.
The chairman of the PSD bench went even further. Addressing the Secretary-General of the PS raised his voice and declared: “Be ashamed.”.
“ Now that you're in opposition, which no longer has the pen in your hand, you dare to say that it will increase the supplements of security forces and services. But do you think there is any PSP agent, or does any GNR military believe you?”, he questioned.
