ANDare you getting ready for an event or an important meeting and you still don't know what to wear? If you need to show confidence or make a first good impression, the ideal is to adjust the way you dress.
In an interview with Parade, psychologist Michelle Lewis, founder of the Color Institute, leave a recommendation that may make you want to review the colors of your clothes.
The expert says that there is a color that makes it look “instantly more confident” and therefore becomes the perfect tone to use in “high-risk situations”. Besides, make sure this confidence color never goes out of fashion!
According to Michelle Lewis, color psychology influences not only how we feel, but also how others welcome us: “Trust is not only felt, it is communicated, and color is one of the fastest and most primitive channels through which this communication happens,” he explains.
“ Before anyone hears your voice, reads your resume or shakes your hand, that person has already formed an impression based partly on the colors you are using,” he said.
But after all, what color improves the determination we feel and what can we transmit?
According to this expert in color psychology, red is the color that makes it look instantly more confident. Lewis says that red is one of the most powerful colors to wear because it “signifies status, authority and attractiveness at the same time”.
“ These three things together are the perceptive backbone of trust”, he adds.
Red – the color of trust
“ When you enter a room dressed in red, people perceive the color very quickly and make immediate assumptions about you and your level of authority ", says.
In addition, the expert mentions that this has been the color of emperors, cardinals, generals and sovereigns in virtually every civilization in history.
Does it work for everyone?
Although color psychology identifies red as the most vibrant color to convey courage, the psychologist makes the reservation that the color that can convey more confidence may be the one that makes you feel more comfortable and brave to use.
