A princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank welcomed their third son, a girl whose name has not yet been revealed. And the birth of the baby on August 3rd in Lisbon changes the line of succession to the British throne.
Although Princess Eugenie's children have no royal titles, they are all part of the line of succession to the throne. The baby now occupies the 15th position in the line of succession.
With the birth of the third son of Charles III's niece, his uncle, Prince Edward (the youngest son of Queen Elizabeth II), takes the 16th position.
The sons of Prince Edward, Princess Anne (together with her children and grandchildren) and all who succeed them in the line of succession also withdrew a position with the birth of the baby.
Princess Eugenie, remember, occupies the 12th position in the line of succession, followed by her three sons, with the order of birth, August and Ernest and now the newborn.
What is the order of succession to the British throne?
King Charles III has as heir the eldest son William, who is succeeded by his three sons: Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Harry is in fifth place, followed by his two sons, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Prince Andrew remains in the line of succession to the throne (in 8th place), although he was stripped of his royal titles last year.
Eugenie's older sister, Princess Beatrice, and her nieces, Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi and Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, are also ahead of Eugenie.
Due to the 2013 Crown Succession Act, Eugenie and Jack's daughter will not lose her position in the line of succession if she has a younger brother. The law replaced the birthright with male preference for absolute birthright. Thus, the eldest son takes the throne before the younger brothers, regardless of sex, for all born after October 28, 2011.
The position of Princess Eugenie's daughter in the line of succession also does not change because she was born outside the United Kingdom. It is recalled that the princess had the baby at the Hospital da Luz (according to RTP) in Lisbon. The family has been divided between our country and the United Kingdom since 2022 because of the work of Jack Brooksbank.
The entrepreneur works at the Costa Terra Golf & Ocean Club in Melides, on the Alentejo coast, where they have a home. Among its neighbours are, for example, names such as Christian Louboutin and Formula One driver. Max Verstappen.
