Liliana Santos is the face of a new music festival. Rock & Dão comes to celebrate the music, gastronomy and wines of Dão.
The festival takes place on September 18th and 19th in Santiago Park, in Viseu, with performances by Mika and UB40 as poster heads.
In an interview with Fame to Minute, Liliana Santos told us about the reasons why she joined this initiative and the connection she has always had with the region.
I love pretty much everything connected to the Viseu traditionHow did you receive this invitation to be ambassador to the Rock & Dão festival?
I received this invitation with great enthusiasm. It appeared through Pedro Morais
Piglet, who, in conversation during a festival, learned about my family connection to Viseu. From then on, everything made sense and I was very happy to be able to associate with a project that also celebrates a region with so much meaning for me.
What is this connection you claim to have with the Viseu region?
My mother is from Silgueiros and so Viseu has always been a part of my life. I often come here to visit the family and have very beautiful memories of this region.
Would you ever move to this area?
I come regularly to visit the family and always like to enjoy the tranquility of the region. As for moving, it's not in the plan anymore, but I never say never. It's an area where I feel really good and where I can imagine a quieter life in the future.
What else do you like or make you identify with Dão?
I really like nature, landscape, fresh air and serenity around here. People always welcome us with open arms, and, of course, I can't help but talk about the wines of the Dão, which I am very fond of.
Do you remember any particularly special and unforgettable moments that you have lived in this area of the country?
I remember very fondly the times I went to the St. Matthew's Fair. It's a
very special environment, full of tradition, fun and reunions. It's one of those
events that can bring together those who live here and those who return to land on vacation, creating a unique environment.
One of the goals of this event is to enhance gastronomic and wine excellence of the region. At the gastronomic level, what is the typical dish of this region of which more do you like it?
It's very difficult to choose only one! My mother is an excellent cook and I grew up surrounded by the typical flavors of this region. I have great affection for the Beirã gastronomy and I confess that I love almost everything that is linked to the tradition of the region.
What concert does Liliana really not want to miss?
Honestly, I want to make the most of the festival and not miss anything! I am
very excited to see names like Mika and UB40, but I also have a lot of desire to attend the concerts of our Portuguese artists, who have an extraordinary talent.

You're a very challenging character and I believe you'll surprise the audience
At a time when festival looks give so much to talk, what is the perfect look to take to Rock & Dão?
For me, the perfect look is the one that combines style and comfort. A relaxed look, with a festival touch, but that allows dancing, singing and enjoying every night of the festival without worries.
Liliana often gives us the opportunity to speak for the looks and the excellent physical form she presents at age 45. What are your secrets?
I don't believe in secrets, I believe in consistency. I try to sleep well, feed in a balanced way, train regularly and take care of my physical and mental health. And I think doing what we like also makes all the difference.
What other professional projects do you have soon?
At this moment I am on tour across the country with the play “Pizza Man” and, very soon, premieres on TVI the novel Heart of Mother, where I play Marta. She's a very challenging character and I believe she'll surprise the audience.
