O President Donald Trump announced today the appointment of his adviser Stephen Miller, representative of the right-wing identity, to the strategic position of White House chief of staff.
This is the first major restructuring in the US executive power after the great defeat suffered by the Republican Party in the mid-term elections, interpreted as a strong rejection of Trump's second term of office.
The Republican announced, through his social network Truth Social, that Stephen Miller, 41 years old and architect of Trump's aggressive anti-immigration policy, will assume, on Monday, the position occupied by current chief of staff, Susie Wiles, 69 years old.
The current chief of staff will perform other functions in the orbit of the 80-year-old billionaire, but outside the government.
“I want to thank you. She did an excellent job”, wrote the Republican.
“My role may be changing, but my commitment to the president and his mission will never change,” he said on social network X Susie Wiles, the first woman to occupy this position.
Responsible for coordinating Donald Trump's latest campaign, she recently underwent treatment against breast cancer, announcing in September that she was cured.
The post of chief of staff is possibly the most strategic position of the US executive power.
Its function is to filter the information and the people who have access to the head of state, while ensuring the proper daily functioning of the governing machine.
