Ruben Amorim was “satisfied” with the victory of his AC Milan over the Internazionale, for 3-1, but warned that “it will take time” and the team will return to “suffer”, until it is able to find the balance it seeks.

Ruben Amorim lived this Saturday, the one who was, so far, the best episode in the technical command of AC Milan, by taking the best over the eternal rival, Internazionale, in the long awaited Derby della Madonnina of the tenth Serie A journey, by 3-1, to the ‘balleia’ of the goals of Christian Pulisic, Adrien Rabiot and Diego Moreira, respectively, at 4, 10 and 43 minutes (which deserved response by Alessandro Bastoni, at 22).
However, in declarations given to the programme ‘Golazo‘, issued by U.S. television station CBS Sports, after the final whistle, the Portuguese coach refused to ‘band in arch’: “I think we have a lot of potential to be very good, but we need to count on all the players, because we’re playing a lot of games, especially in the middle of the week.”.
“ Then we need to be at a top level every day, and we're not doing it. We need to be honest about this, and the big teams, the teams that want to win titles, are always very focused and composed. They may play badly, but they are composed, and tonight we showed that we were very composed ", he said.
“ We've proven, in the last few games, that we may have very good times as a team, but today we've been another great team playing football. Still, I think it's gonna take a while. It won't happen in three months. We will have fantastic nights like today, but we will suffer as we suffer on Wednesday, because it is part of the process ", he added.
“ I don’t want to disappoint these people who are supporting me so much”
Urged to comment on the fact that, in the middle of the week, the owner of the rossonero emblem, the Italian-American millionaire Gerry Cardinale, have assured you will never “abandon” him, ex-Sporting confessed it was a message of trust “very important, especially, so that people realize that the project will not change, no matter what”.
“ That's a good feeling to have as a coach, but I'm not naive, and I realize I have to win games too, because all this support also gives me a great responsibility. I don't want to disappoint these people who are supporting me so much, especially Mr Cardinale. This is very important”, he said.
“ It is very important to be very clear about the project with people, because the fans are intelligent. If they feel that there is trust, whatever happens on our way, I think it will only help the club ", completed.
“I don’t know why, but I’m thinking about Wednesday’s game...”
Finally, Ruben Amorim took the opportunity to alert the importance of the Milan AC squad to continue this moment, so as not to repeat the ‘sin’ committed in the defeat suffered before Bologna, in the middle of Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, by 2-4: “I am satisfied by my players. I don't know why, but I'm thinking about Wednesday's game. We should have won.”.
“ I think it was very important. You saw the game, and you can feel the environment and how important it is to people. When you are starting a project, having this kind of night can help you succeed (...). It is the perception that any game is worth the same three points, and we have to be consistent”, pointed.
“ You could feel that today, the focus on the details, the focus on being one or two meters closer to the opponent, the focus on the stalled balls, even though, today, we have had some difficulties... We were very focused during the game, and then the quality is there, and we're gonna score goals. I think we have to be very humble and work hard at all games, not just in the big games”, he concluded.
