The 27th edition of SeixalJazz will take place in the county from October 8 to 17, in a program “celebrating the course of current jazz” with the group Fire and Water, Jason Moran and Camilla George, among others.

Sfollowing the program announced today by the municipal council of that district of Setúbal, the SeixalJazz 2026 will have eight concerts at the Municipal Auditorium of the Seixal Cultural Forum, opening on 08th, with a concert by the American singer and composer Christie Dashiell.
The next night and in the same place is the turn of Camilla George, saxophonist and composer born in Nigeria, to perform on that stage in a concert that the organization promises “to be of a hypnotizing style that mixes afrofuturism, hip hop and jazz, with a strong cultural and political dimension linked to its African origins”.
On October 10, it is the turn of Luís Vicente Trio, in a show in which Luís Vicente will perform in quintet, joining his trio two “internationally renowned” guests, according to the organization. This is Argentine pianist Leo Genovese and American saxophonist Tony Malaby.
Five days later it is the turn of the bassist, composer and producer Hugo Carvalhais to perform in sexteto, revisiting “marky moments and compositions of five albums, celebrating 16 years of course in a show that opens a door between the past and the artistic future of one of the most interesting and international jazz musicians of the Portuguese panorama”, adds the organization.
The American Jason Moran will take the stage of the auditorium of that Forum on the 16th, in a solo concert in which the pianist, composer and producer “reveals a deep commitment to African-American history and a passion for the art of Jean Michel Basquiat, who inspires his series of compositions ‘Gangsterism’”, promises the organization.
Closing the program at the Forum will be on the 17th the Fire and Water quintet, led by pianist and composer Myra Melford.
All shows at the Auditorium of the Seixal Municipal Forum begin at 10pm.
The 27th edition of SeixalJazz also includes eight proposals that affect the informal environment of the SeixalJazz Club, with shows at 23:00 and 00:00 each day, but with places still undisclosed.
