Syria reaffirms sovereignty of the Golan Mountains and demands withdrawal from Israel

The interim Syrian President ensured today that the Golan Mountains, whose sovereignty is disputed with Israel, are and will continue to be Syrian territory, denounced the continuing attacks on the country and demanded the withdrawal of Israeli forces.

“ O world applauded our return, but Israel continues to attack Syria,” Ahmad al-Sharaa said during his speech in the general debate of the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The Syrian leader denounced at least “500 air raids, more than 2,500 incursions and about 300 arrests” in Syrian territory perpetrated by Israel.

“ This is in contradiction with the direction that we have at world level, we thought this era had ended,” he continued, demanding “the withdrawal of Israeli forces.”.

Israel Claims Death of Hamas Finance Officer

Israel killed the head of the financial department of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, in an attack against a car in the south of the Gaza Strip, in which another person also died, today claimed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
