You will have to wait for 2027 to play “GTA VI” online mode

Meven though the arrival of “GTA VI” stores is scheduled for November 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, the truth is that this release concerns only the campaign for one player and not online mode.

A good part of the longevity, success and profitability of “GTA V” is due to the GTA Online mode, which allowed players to enjoy the game world together. It turns out that “GTA V” was released in September 2013 and players did not have to wait long for online mode, as it was made available shortly afterwards in October of the same year.

However, despite this success of GTA Online, Rockstar Games remains silent about the presence in a similar way in “GTA VI”. It is practically guaranteed that this new game will have an online mode, however it is assumed that the producer is keeping the secret and plans to uncover more news closer to the release.

However, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy now says that the online mode of “GTA VI” should arrive shortly after the game is released and points the year 2027 as the most likely period.

“ We spent a lot of time talking to Rockstar Games about their plans and also helping them think about how they can handle our content creators.”, explained Clancy in an interview with Bloomberg. “ You will see a big increase with ‘GTA VI’, but you will see an even bigger increase next year when the multiplayer mode is launched”.

It is not yet clear whether this release of “GTA VI” online mode will be made at the beginning of 2027 or another period. However, it is clear that Rockstar Games is dedicated and focused on designing online mode as a somewhat separate experience from campaign mode.

There is also the possibility of Rockstar Games announcing in 2027 the PC version of “GTA VI”. At the moment the game is announced only for Sony and Microsoft consoles but, given the strategy the producer has adopted with its latest titles, it is possible that “GTA VI” will be released on the PC.

Looking back, “GTA V” was released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September 2013. A year later, in November 2014, the game reached PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and shortly after, in April 2015, we were entitled to the PC version.

The process was a little faster with “Red Dead Redemption II”. The original release of this title took place in October 2018 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with PC players receiving a dedicated version in November 2019.

It is not known to what extent Rockstar Games plans to synchronise the online releases of “GTA VI” and PC, but it seems that 2027 will be a busy year for franchise.
