Old towels about to go to waste? Give them these three uses

O what are you thinking of doing towels with signs of use? Before they end up in the trash, think twice and realize what real cleaning and organizing experts would do.

Whether bath or kitchen, there are many simple and practical ways to reuse these fabrics at home. Besides saving money, it can also reduce waste. Take note:

The three “smart uses” of old bath towels

Washable makeup discs

Microfiber towels can function as reusable makeup pads.

“ I usually cut these cloths to squares or rectangles. I use once with micellar water or facial cleansing gel to remove makeup, then put in a small knitted bag for dirty clothes, wash and reuse”, DeMorrow describes. 

Even so, make sure to apply these cloths to the skin only when they are properly washed. Never leave them in direct contact with dirty surfaces, if possible, store them even in their own compartments to isolate germs that may harm skin health.

To use as a pet bath towel

“ If you have pets at home, put the old towels on for your furry friends. Use them as bath towels, place them on pet beds or in travel conveyor boxes” to give your stepfather extra comfort.

On rainy days, these experts also recommend keeping these towels close to the front door to clean the paws of their animals to prevent them spreading dirt around the house.

They can be very useful to carry in the car

Take a towel in the car to facilitate the cleaning of the car or to cover any kind of unforeseen.

Keeping at least one towel in the luggage of the car can be useful for several reasons, for example even for “manual quick drying to remove accumulated dirt from birds.” Or even to wipe your feet before getting in the car, after a day on the beach or stepping in the mud.
