ANDm reported, the STT reported that the salary update of EUR 57 “in the salary scale category salary”, the increase in the meal allowance between ten cents (with canteen) and twenty cents (without canteen) and the 5% increase in the cost allowances in the national territory “have retroactive effects on 1 January 2026”, with payment in July.
“Thanks to the mobilization of workers and to the firmness demonstrated by the TST and other trade unions, throughout the negotiation process of the EE of RTP, it was possible to ensure real improvements without any loss of rights,” says the management of the trade union structure.
Explaining that “no such improvements involve cuts, losses or setbacks to rights”, the STT attributes the agreement in principle to the participation of workers in the general plenary “after CA’s provocative proposal to increase wages by five euros and propose to withdraw a set of rights”.
On 27 March, RTP workers, meeting in plenary, decided to resort to strike, normal, supplementary work and holidays, in response to the “wage cut proposal” of the administration, which was initially five euros and was subsequently revised to 7.5 euros.
“The proposal presented by the Administration for the review of the Company Agreement is a deliberate insult to those who, every day, ensure the public media service. In view of the government’s recommendation for the state’s business sector, which points to increases of €56.58, the Administration responds with €7.50,” according to the joint statement issued by the Workers’ Commission (CT) of RTP and Porto Workers’ Subcommittee.
According to the same note, the administration of the public station also wanted to eliminate the 3% discount for supplementary pension insurance, to end the travel allowance and to keep the meal allowance unchanged.
