O president Donald Trump announced this Sunday that Ukraine and Russia agreed to immediately suspend attacks on energy facilities.

The information was advanced by Trump on his social network Truth Social, without having given more details about the duration of the truce, for example.

“ An ENERGY CESSAR in the war between Russia and Ukraine will enter into force immediately. Both parties agreed. Don’t break it!”, he wrote.

Prior to the message of the US leader, the Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, said today that he is willing to stop attacks on Russian refineries if Moscow fails to target Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

This statement also appears after Trump's criticism of Volodymyr Zelensky, blaming him for the high prices of diesel and suggesting that Ukraine should have a new leader.

“ I suggest you elect a new leader capable of reaching an agreement,” said the US President before the press in the White House, condemning the Ukrainian attacks on Russian refineries, which, according to Trump, only aggravate “the world’s problem” of diesel shortages.

“It is in your interest to stop,” Donald Trump warned, addressing the Ukrainian President, in a reference to the announcement of a controversial agreement between Moscow and Washington for the large-scale purchase of Russian diesel.

The Ukrainian President responded this Sunday to the President of the United States, saying that his country is available to hold elections if Russia agreed to a total ceasefire of 60 days.

“ Please tell Putin to grant us two months, 60 days of total ceasefire, 60 days, and we will hold the elections”, said in an interview with ABC News.
