“ As next weeks and months will be a period of very intense actions by Russia”, said Donald Tusk, quoted by France-Presse news agency (AFP).
The Head of the Polish Government, who presided over an emergency meeting following the Russian drone attacks in Ukraine, also admitted that this escalation may affect Poland.
According to the executive, a Russian drone hit a Ukrainian target 800 metres from the Polish border.
The Polish Foreign Minister, Radoslaw Sikorski, had already said that there was an escalation in the clashes between Russia and Ukraine.
Ukraine is under increasing pressure due to the intensification of the Russian air campaign, which uses ballistic missiles and drones.
Moscow's attacks target the Ukrainian power grid before winter, in a strategy that, the Kyiv authorities said, aims to demoralize the population.
One of Russia's attacks this morning will have hit a train connecting Kyiv and Warsaw, according to Polish diplomacy.
